Erb Mon is a painter and muralist whose practice stems from photography. After an initial period devoted to this medium, he began intervening in public space by placing images in the street, where he came into contact with urban art, becoming a pioneer of paste-up in Barcelona. Creating in public space became his priority, and he gradually moved away from photography to focus on mural painting.
After several years devoted exclusively to muralism, he approached contemporary art through painting on paper and canvas. He experimented with digital painting and noise music. He considers these two stages to have been classrooms that expanded his painting practice.
Nature, metaphysics, and minimalism are vital influences in his life and work.
He is currently exploring what he calls “The Poetry of Things.” Through observation, he understands living as a poetic act and begins to create from this premise. He conceives of the work as an action that extends beyond the object itself.
