In my life, I practice what I call “The Poetry of Things”: a way of seeing life through a poetic lens. Over time, you begin to find poetry in everything, and that brings a greater sense of delicacy and dignity to everyday life.
I started developing a book based on photographs I’ve taken during my travels. Through it, I hope to demonstrate The Poetry of Things in practice. I’ve managed to capture deeply moving images of ordinary, everyday moments.
Many people don’t know that I first entered the arts through photography, and this project serves as a bridge between my two artistic identities: the bohemian photographer who wrote poetry and pasted photocopies on city streets, and the nomadic painter who travels from city to city creating murals.
I believe the act of bringing these two selves together is therapeutic. At the same time, it offers an opportunity to tell the story of what came before Erb Mon. I have a fascinating body of work tucked away in a drawer, and at some point I’ll have to give it the attention it deserves. It would be a shame not to publish this chapter of my life. I’m very proud of it.
En mi vida practico lo que yo llamo “La poesía de las cosas”: se trata de ver la vida en modo poético. Con el tiempo empiezas a ver poesía en todo, y esto aporta al día a día un sentido más delicado y noble.
Empecé a elaborar un libro a partir de fotos que voy haciendo en mis viajes. En él pretendo demostrar “La poesía de las cosas” en la práctica. Logré captar imágenes realmente emocionales del cotidiano.
Muchos no saben que empecé en las artes a través de la fotografía, y este proyecto es un puente entre los dos artistas: el fotógrafo bohemio que escribía poesías y encolaba fotocopias por las calles y el pintor nómada que recorre las ciudades pintando murales.
El ejercicio de unir los dos personajes creo que es terapéutico y, a la vez, se convierte en la oportunidad para contar qué pasó antes de Erb Mon. Tengo un currículum muy interesante guardado en un cajón y, en algún momento, tendré que hacerme cargo de él. Sería de muy mal gusto no editar esta etapa. Estoy muy orgulloso de ella.
